I’m signing the Captioning Petition Because….

I’m signing because… (Click on any of the text below to be taken to the articles that correspond to the reasons)

It will make it easy for people to enjoy what those with no hearing issues take for granted.

How else do deaf people enjoy? TV

My work requires me to keep abreast of breaking news and current affairs and this is hard to do without captions.

I’m signing because everyone should be able to watch the news.

It will be a good idea for Asian New Zealanders.

My dad is hard of hearing. Also, as NZSL is an official language of Aotearoa, this should of been done already.!

It shouldn’t even require a petition – it is their human right to be able to understand what is going on…..

We shouldn’t be excluding anyone!

It’s a human right.

It’s the right thing to do.

The video clip on this website clearly illustrates what a guessing game lip reading can be … and so wrong!

Rugby is awesome and no one need miss out. 🙂

its our blinky right to information, news, entertainment, excitement, drama and sports. Captions helps us to understand what's going on in our own silent world.

I am signing this petition as it is a human right to have subtitles for deaf viewers in NewZealand. We get subtitlesin in Ireland. We asked for it. Dont give up the fight New Zealanders as you need to know what going on in your country through TV.
